Standard Editorial Assessment:
With a standard editorial assessment I will take a deep dive into your manuscript, looking at structure, plot, pace, voice, style, narrative, character development and audience/genre. These reports are 8-11 pages long with detailed notes on anything that I feel is blocking your book’s potential. A partial assessment (for manuscripts with word counts below 20,000 words) is normally 3-4 pages long. You will also receive feedback on your synopsis, cover letter, pitch and chapter outline (if you have one). After this, I set up a time to speak to clients to discuss the next steps, which might be sending the book to a literary agent with my recommendation. I like a ‘hands on’ approach with my writers, so I encourage you to keep in touch down the line with any questions or advice you might have.

Reassessment:
The same length as editorial assessment and follows the same price structure.
Developmental Editorial Assessment:
Includes a standard editorial assessment, a manuscript mark-up (page notes) and 45 minute writer’s surgery (Zoom). The fee for this edit is £900 for the first 60,000 words and £5 for every1000 words over 60,000.
Writer's Surgery:
A one-on-one Zoom session for developing ideas. Writer's can send up to 2000 words in advance of the session, plus their synopsis and cover letter. £100 p/h.
